New Delhi The first train set of India’s first Regional Rapid Transit System ( RRTS ) was handed over to National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC) at the manufacturing plant located at thr Vadodara in Gujarat on Saturday. This train will run on Sarai Kale Khan-Ghaziabad-Meerut RRTS corridor.

The RRTS train sets are being manufactured under Make In India action and are able of running at a top speed of 180 kilometre per hour. The train will be taken to Duhai Depot in Uttar Pradesh and maintanance and operation will be from there. The completely air- conditioned train boasts several ultramodern commuter-centric features including gentled seating, laptop-mobile charging, luggage racks, and a dynamic route chart.
“ The train provides with full of features for passengers like charging points and comfortable seats. The bottom has been made in a particular way to keep it clean all the time. There will be Wi-Fi and infotainment system on train,” said Secretary of Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs and President of (NCRTC), who presided the event.
NCRTC is the enforcing agency of India’s first RRTS corridor between Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut. The construction work on the 82-km corridor is in the full swing. The 17 km long precedence section between Sahibabad and Duhai is targeted to be commissioned by 2023 and the full corridor will be completely functional by 2025.
According to NCRTC officers, these will be the fastest trains in India with a design speed of 180kmph and functional speed of 160kmph with an average speed of 100kmph.

The ultra modern RRTS trains have designed of 2 × 2 transverse gentled seating, wide standing space, luggage racks, CCTV cameras, laptop/ mobile charging installation, dynamic route charts, bus control ambient lighting, Heating Ventilation and Air Conditioning System, and other amenities.
Powered by electric traction, RRTS will serve as the green mode of transport in the NCR.
The RRTS trains also have a‘ standard as well as ultraexpensive class’ (one trainer per train), along with one trainer reserved for women commuters.

When asked about chow of the Meerut-bound RRTS, Joshi said, It's yet to be decided. The chow will be similar as that ensures optimum position of passengers as well as profit.
Manufacture of the RRTS Train Sets in India
Officers said that RRTS train sets are 100 per cent manufactured in India at Alstom’s ( before Bombardier) plant at Savli in Gujarat under the Make in India action. Alstom is a French transnational establishment that acquired Bombardier Transportation beforehand last time. The ultimate, a Canadian-German establishment, manufactured metro buses for the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation.

The manufacturing installation at Savli will deliver a aggregate of 210 buses for the first RRTS corridor. These will include train sets for operating indigenous conveyance services on the Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut corridor, and for original conveyance services in Meerut. After the appearance of the trains, original trial runs are anticipated to commence on the precedence section (Sahibabad-Duhai) by the end of this time.
The 17-km precedence section is targeted to be commissioned by 2023 and the full corridor by 2025.
Vinay Kumar Singh, Managing Director, NCRTC, said that these train sets are the loftiest quality product. This will make the commissioning of the corridor in time or little before. All these train sets is manufactured in line with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’. As soon as the rolling stock reaches our Duhai Depot we will start the trials, Singh said.
